Sherry Li
Assistant Professor, Berklee College of Music
Sherry is an award-winning producer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. She is also an online writer with 200k readers, 3 times TEDx speaker on the journey of pursuing creative arts professionally, a Lennon Award recipient for my songwriting, and author of two books on music theory. Her music has been featured by top global brands, and her work inspires creativity and innovative approaches to education. She practices wisdom-based methods to support students in their flourishing .

Daniel Thorson
Ex-Monastic, Podcaster, Coach
Principle at the Basin Collective
Daniel Thorson is the creator and host of the podcast Emerge – Making Sense of What’s Next, where he explores the relationship between inner and outer transformation. He was on the team at Monastic Academy, which trains and cultivates wise, powerful, and loving leaders for social and environmental peace. Daniel was an organizer with Occupy Wall Street (in NYC); helped start Boulder Flood Relief in 2013; and founded a mindfulness education company.

Gretchen Brion-Meisels
Senior Lecturer, Harvard Graduate School of Education
Gretchen researches partnerships between youth and adults that support both individual and collective development. She is particularly interested in using youth participatory action research to investigate and reform student support efforts, as well as to build a positive school climate. She conducted investigations of SEL in schools, holistic student support systems, and her courses focus on supporting positive youth development, creating loving educational spaces, and partnering with youth in educational research and practice.

Bonnitta Roy
Academic Director, The Divinity School
Bonnitta Roy teaches insight practices for individuals who are developing meta-cognitive skills, and hosts collective insight retreats for groups interested in breaking away from limiting patterns of thought. She teaches a masters course in consciousness studies and transpersonal psychology at the Graduate Institute. She is an associate editor of Integral Review where you can also find her articles on process approaches to consciousness, perception, and metaphysics.

Sylvie Barbier
Ritual Artists for System Change
Co-Founder of Life Itself (France)
Marrying the artistic, political and spiritual, Sylvie ‘Shiwei’ Barbier is a French-Taiwanese artist. Her work synthesizes Eastern and Western philosophies and aesthetics, using Koans as a bridge for the mind into the spiritual realm, by pushing us beyond the bounds of the intellect into a space of greater wholeness and connection.. She is also the co-founder of Life Itself, an organization dedicated to practical actions for a radically wiser, weller world.

Special Guests
We are a collective of Boston Arts Academy students and teacher plus Harvard Graduate School of Education master’s students exploring the pillars of democratic education through art and youth-led inquiry. We are excited to perform for and be in conversation with our workshop participants through small group discussions and a panel. We hope participants walk away with a greater appreciation of creativity, youth voice, and our collective future.
